I’m a huge fan of simple dishes that don’t use a ton of ingredients and cook up fast. This keto beef and broccoli stir fry recipe fits the bill perfectly. It only takes a handful of ingredients and takes just 20 minutes to cook!

The secret to the amazing flavor in this keto beef and broccoli is the marinade. I usually prep the beef and let it sit in the marinade overnight in the fridge, but marinating for 1 hour will still give that great depth of flavor. I have skipped marinating completely before and the recipe is still yummy, but something magical happens when it has time to marinate.

You can serve this keto beef and broccoli with cauliflower rice or keto cauliflower fried rice. Both options go perfectly with it! This is a great way to feed a bigger crowd, too!

What You’ll Need

I use my ceramic wok when cooking this dish to make it as easy as possible. It’s large and has nice, high sides to prevent me from slinging stuff onto the stove. Plus, nothing sticks to it and cleanup is a breeze! If you don’t have ceramic cookware yet, I highly recommend getting some – they’re awesome!

For the marinade, you’ll need coconut aminos, olive oil, Worcestershire sauce, ground ginger, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.

The coconut aminos are a fantastic soy sauce alternative. The taste is almost identical to soy sauce but it has much lower sodium and no gluten or wheat.

You’ll also need 1 pound of flank steak, 3 cups of broccoli, and 1 tablespoon of butter (or other healthy oil).

Preparing the Marinade

Cut the beef into small, thin slivers for a delicious keto beef & broccoli

Start by cutting the flank steak into thin slices. Cut against the grain of the meat to get the best bite. You can see Roxy, our pitbull, eager to help me out in the kitchen! She would like to get a bite of that beef!

Add the beef to a large zip top bag or container with a lid. Now add 1/3 cup coconut aminos, 1 teaspoon olive oil, 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce, 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger, 1 teaspoon garlic powder and a pinch of salt and pepper to the bag or container. Pop it in the fridge and let it sit for at least 1 hour. I tend to prep the beef and let it marinate overnight, but 1 hour is enough to get a great, flavorful beef. If you’re in a super hurry, you can skip this step and still get a delicious dinner, but marinating the beef gives it more depth of flavor.

How to Make Keto Beef and Broccoli

This low carb & broccoli cooks up in just 20 minutes!

Once your beef has marinated for at least an hour, it’s time to cook! Add butter (or other healthy fat) to your wok and heat it to medium-high heat.

Add the beef to the wok. Save the marinating liquid! Stir fry the beef in the wok until it’s browned (about 5 minutes).

While the beef is cooking, begin prepping the broccoli. You’ll need 3 cups of broccoli. Both fresh and frozen work in this recipe.

To make this recipe as easy as possible, I use frozen steamer bags of broccoli. I steam them in the microwave as directed and use this for the recipe.

Fresh broccoli works perfectly fine too. You’ll need to cut the broccoli florets from the head and then steam it until tender. You can also boil it for 2 minutes, then drain it. Either method is fine for this.

Once the beef is browned, add the broccoli and marinating liquid that you saved to the wok. Continue stir frying for another 4-5 minutes. It’s done when the beef is cooked through and the broccoli is tender.

For us, this recipe is enough to serve 4, which will result in 5g net carbs per serving (entire recipe divided by 4). If you love it and want a larger serving size (I don’t blame you – it’s delicious!), this will increase the net carb count, so be aware of that if you’re carefully counting carbs!
